Want to see artwork done by our very own faculty here at Mount Saint Mary College? The CMA Gallery currently showcases an exhibition of photography, paintings and ceramics.

A reception for the gallery was held on October 28. Christopher Neyen, who is an associate professor of art and graphic design, says, “the reception turned out very nice. Numerous faculty, students and administration were in attendance.  We also had a number of visitors from outside campus.” The gallery will be open through Feb. 24, 2022.

The CMA Gallery allows the Mount community to connect visual arts to a wide ranging audience. “Students should check out the gallery for the simple reason that the professors at their institution are working in the disciplines they teach; which is not always the case,” Neyen continues, “more than that it is an opportunity to relate to faculty in a unique way.”

Those included in the exhibition include:

  • Dean Goldberg, professor of Digital Media and Film Studies, and Director of the Communication, Art, and Digital Media (CADM) program
  • Chris Neyen, associate professor of Art and Graphic Design, and CMA Gallery Coordinator
  • Sascha Mallon, adjunct professor of Ceramics and Painting
  • Nicole Mischo, adjunct professor of Art History
  • Maxine Leu, adjunct professor of Art
  • Stephen Mallon, adjunct professor of Photography

Neyen says they are already in the works for the spring show, which will feature a multidisciplinary group of African American and Latino artists.

This gallery exists with the support of both the Kaplan Family Library and Administrative body of MSMC. The gallery is located on the first floor of Aquinas Hall by the registrar’s office. Stop by and check out the work done by MSMC arts and letters professors!
