Freshman first baseman Michelle Surdan (Acton, Mass.) of the Mount Saint Mary College
softball team was named Skyline Conference Softball Player of the Week for the week ending March 23,
2014, as announced by the conference office. She is the second straight Knight to earn this
distinction. She was also named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Softball Player
of the Week.
Surdan batted .500 and slugged .857 in a 4-0 weekend for the Knights. She totaled seven hits in 14

and scored five times herself. She also stole a base and walked twice. She hit 2-for-3 in game one of
the team’s doubleheader against Farmingdale State College, picking up two RBI and a run scored. She
went 2-for-2 in Sunday’s opener against NYU-Poly with her first home run, four RBI and two runs. She
currently leads the Knights with a .500 batting average on the season.
Sophomore starting pitcher Victoria Goldbach (Middle Village, N.Y.), last week’s Skyline Player of the
Week, was named to the Skyline Honor Roll this week after tossing a pair of complete game victories
over Farmingdale and NYU-Poly this past weekend.
