The Mount Saint Mary College Men’s Tennis Team participated in the Ithaca College Invitational tournament from September 7-8.  The tournament was in a round-robin format.

Though the team did not pick up any singles wins, the doubles matches proved more favorable. The Knights picked up two victories in three matches against St. Lawrence, and picked up another four wins against Ithaca.

Gavin McNulty, first-time collegiate player, said that he and his teammates “held their own” against very strong teams. McNulty is excited to see what they can accomplish during their full season in the spring.

Senior captain Greg Jacob indicated that his opponents played at a higher level than expected. He stated that he was “pleasantly surprised by the way we competed,” and expects to go undefeated in the spring time.

The men’s team has been runner up for the Skyline Conference Championship for the past 3 years, during which time Farmingdale State College has held the title.
