Senior Greg Jacob (Ridgefield, CT) and junior Nate Dimmie (Middletown, NY) of the Mount Saint Mary College men’s tennis team were named to the 2014 Skyline Men’s Tennis All-Conference Teams. Jacob made the All-Skyline First Team, while Dimmie was picked for the All-Conference Second Team.
Battling an injury all spring, Jacob faced off with the toughest opponent on each team that the Knights faced. He went 7-8 on the season at No. 1 singles, but won his last five singles matches to help the Knights hold on to an undefeated Skyline record. He went 4-2 in Skyline singles matches. He also set the program career wins record after earning his 77th and 78th career wins in the Knights’ final regular season match on Tuesday against Bard College. He was named to an All-Skyline Team in all four of his collegiate seasons, including three times on the First Team.
Dimmie is named to the Second Team for his first-ever All-Skyline Team appearance. He got his year off to a tough start, dropping all of his first five matches in 2013-14. He bounced back when Skyline play began in the spring, going 7-3 in his final 10 matches to finish with a 7-8 overall record on the year at number two singles. He, too, went 4-2 against Skyline opponents.
Playing together all season at top-flight doubles, Jacob and Dimmie went 11-4 overall on the season. They dropped just one doubles match in Skyline play for a 5- 1 record and won their last five doubles matches in the regular season.
