Who enjoys free food, giveaways, and supporting our student athletes here at the Mount? Well, you’re in luck. Student Activities is pairing up with athletics to sponsor a new series of events called Super Fan Events.
Super Fan Events were created to promote and show off all the hard work our athletes put forth, while intending to bring more students to the games. These events will occur once this academic year for every fall, winter, and spring sport.
Sunday, Aug. 31st, the first Super Fan Event of the semester took place on the Kaplan turf and sod field. The event was a success, and more importantly a ton of fun. The men’s soccer team competed against Vassar College, which ended in a tie of 0-0 in an exhilarating game that went into overtime.
Prior to the start of the game there was a hot dog bar, drinks, and giveaways that included t-shirts, frisbees, and water bottles. Each Super Fan Event will have different promotions and giveaways. Dan Twomey, Athletic Director at Mount Saint Mary College, even did the ALS ice bucket challenge before game time. It was an afternoon of laughs, excitement, and soccer within the Mount community.
If you are interested in getting involved in the Super Fan Events, such as being the Knight mascot at an event, please see either Sandra or Caitlin in Student Activities located in Hudson Hall.
The next upcoming Super Fan Events are listed below. Hope to see you there!
