During Mount Saint Mary College (MSMC)’s spring weekend, the main event has always been a musical performance or comedy act. In the past, this has included Jessie Mae Peluso from MTV’s Girl Code, Mayday Parade, Travie McCoy, We the Kings, and The Ready Set. This year, however, Student Activities and Senate have chosen a completely unique route for our main entertainment.

This year’s performers are a group called GrooveBoston. Known for their legendary dance parties, it is sure to be an event we won’t want to miss.

GrooveBoston primarily does college events around the country and has performed at schools such as Rutgers, Seton Hall, Widener, Monmouth, and Sarah Lawrence with nothing but an amazing reception and crowd.

According to their website, “GrooveBoston combines massive-scale production with world-class resident DJs to create legendary concert events on college campuses. Our mission is to make people happy by delivering the most intense, engaging event your campus has ever seen.”

It is no doubt that they will bring just this, especially since this is the first event of its kind for our campus.

Set to make its mark on MSMC, GrooveBoston is equipped with state of the art audio, video, lights, speakers and turn tables, and uses primarily EMD (Electronic Dance Music), making their performance feel like you’re at a rave, but at the comfort of your school.

You can only see it to believe it, so to get a sneak peak at this year’s spring weekend performer, watch the video on their performances here:

The event will take place on Sat. April 25 at 8 p.m. in the Kaplan Gymnasium. The event is free to all students and each student is allowed one guest. Make sure to come out and get ready for a once in a lifetime experience MSMC has to offer this weekend!
