On the afternoon of March 27, sophomores, juniors, and seniors alike headed out to Kaplan Recreation Center to grasp that important job, co-op, or internship opportunity. Industries from Healthcare to Communications crowded around to examine the wide-eyed students.

The 13th Annual Employment Fair was organized by the Mount Saint Mary College Career Center. Janet Zeman, the Center’s Executive Director, believes that the fair will help “students come out and see what’s available—to think outside the box.”

The Career Development Director Ellis Bourhis Nolan hopes that students will be able to “hone their networking skills, learn how to speak to employers, and develop job possibilities.” Indeed, students and employers come from far and wide to seize a job opportunity and get their foot in the door.

All of the employers were friendly and professional. A few that stood out are Fox News and Cumulus Broadcasting. Other employers seeking prospective job seekers included Four Winds Hospital, Anderson Center for Autism, Waterbury Public Schools, and Kohl’s. The students were equally excited to meet with these employers as much as the employers were to meet them. All in all, the event was yet another well-organized effort on the part of the Mount’s Career Center.
