There has been a change on our campus. Have you noticed it? With the warm weather slowly creeping towards us, the winter jackets and Ugg boots are going back into the closet, and dresses and shorts are making their way back into our wardrobes. This can only mean one thing: spring is finally here. The flowers are starting to bloom, the sun is shining, and the snow is long gone. Experimenting with color in your makeup and hair is encouraged during spring, but how do you go about doing it? Here are a few tips to incorporate some spring color into your daily beauty routine.

1) Don’t be scared

A lot of people shy away from using color because it’s intimidating. No one is telling you to make yourself look like a clown. It’s all about which colors you use and the way you apply them.

2) Use a bright colored eyeliner

Some people have a hard time applying a complete eyeshadow look. Try using bright colored eyeliners instead. Using eyeliner rather than eyeshadow can give a more subtle everyday look. Try a green, turquoise, or purple eyeliner on your top lid or waterline; this will add some color and brighten up your eyes.

3) Colored Mascara

It’s something that has been around for a while, but not many know it exists. Using mascara colors such as purple, blue, and green can give your eye a completely different look.

4) Use a pop of color on your cheeks

Applying a bright cheek color can instantly brighten up your face and entire look. If you prefer a more neutral eye or lip, go for a brighter cheek. Oranges, pinks, and corals will instantly add a glow to your face.

5) Add some orange

According to magazines such as Glamour and Allure, the color orange was trending during Spring Fashion Week 2014. Whether you use a coral/orange toned brush or rock a bold orange lip, you will look like you are ready for spring.

6) Bold Lips

A bold lip can require some confidence, but can make you look extremely put together. Using bright purples, pinks, reds, and corals on your lips can make a bold spring statement. For a less bold look, apply your lipstick first, then blot with a tissue. This will take a layer of the lipstick off and leave you with a gorgeous stained look.

7) Change up your hair

A huge trend that hits during the spring and summer months is “dip dying.” Dip dying is often confused with ombré. Dip dying creates more of a bold contrast, while an ombré lightens hair with a more natural result. Experimenting with color when dip dying will create a spring ready look.

We hope these quick tips have helped you look at color a little differently and that you will try incorporating it into your daily spring routine.
