On October 20th Oliver Roustening, creative director of Balmain and the head of the #BalmainArmy, show cased his collaboration with Swedish retailer, H&M, at a former bank on Wall Street in New York City.
In May, Roustening announced the Balmain collaboration at the Billboard Music Awards with models, Kendell Jenner and Jordan Dunn, who were wearing the designs of the upcoming collaboration.
At last night’s event, the #BalmainArmy was in full swing with the faces of the campaign Gigi Hadid, Jordan Dunn and Kendell Jenner, as well as super models Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, and Bella Hadid gracing the runway.
Since 2004, H&M has been collaborating with high end designers to create affordable clothing for their consumers who can’t afford designer prices. H&M has collaborated with many high end luxury designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and last year’s highly successful, Alexander Wang.
Balmain can now be a part of the list and in most fashion lover’s closets for a fraction of the real Balmain price. The cost of the collection range from $17.99 for headphones to $649 for the embellished dress worn by Gigi Hadid.
Once the models cleared the runway, the show was not over yet. The reunion of every 90s kids favorite boy band, The Backstreet Boys, emerged on the runway and performed some of their greatest hits. The guests of the show were able to shop the looks from the runway after the show in a pop up store. The guests also received goodie bags filled with a few items from the show as well as happy meals or “Balmain burgers.”
For those who were not able to attend the event and snag up some of the amazing pieces, the Balmain x H&M collaboration hits stores November 4th where all looks from the runway will be available.
