Most college students are exhausted all the time. We can’t go to class, get all of our work done, study for midterms, stay involved in campus life, hang out with our friends, and get a full eight hours of sleep every night. There simply are not enough hours in the day. Therefore, we turn to our familiar friend. Its name? Coffee.

Most people can identify themselves as either a Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts fan, even if they do not drink coffee. Both of these companies now have apps that work off of the same principle, which is to reward customers with coupons and deals for purchasing their products.

The main difference between the two apps is that the Dunkin’ Donuts app is made specifically for their rewards program, while the Starbucks app has more features than just their rewards program.

Both apps require you to make an account to use the app, and both apps have you connect a reloadable gift card to your account. You can use them to pay for your order right from your phone.

The Dunkin’ Donuts app offers coupons and rewards for every purchase that are sent straight to the app for you to use. The Starbucks app sends the coupons from the rewards program to your email, which requires an additional step.

The Starbucks app does offer more functionality compared to the Dunkin’ Donuts app.  Such functions include a map to find the closest store based on your location, the ability to see the whole menu, and the ability to send gift cards to friends.

Both apps have their advantages, but at the end of the day, as long as you are enjoying your cup of coffee, nothing else matters.

Download one of these apps or both to enjoy some of the perks each company has to offer their customers.
