Over the past few weeks, over one hundred designers have shown their Autumn/Winter 2015 collections. From New York, London, Milan and Paris, these were the top 8 trends on and off the runway this month:

1. 70’s Chic

All across the runways this season, the looks of the 70’s were present everywhere. Emilio Puccini and Narciso Rodriguez brought back the wide leg trousers that were popular in the era. Vivienne Westwood Red Label and Gorgio Armani both used velvet dresses in their collections for fall. Shag coats from Elie Tahari, Rodarte, Giorgio Armani, and Dries Van Noten were widely used on their runway this season. A lot of designers this season also turned to using bright and wild prints that were popular in the 1970’s; Roberto Cavalli, Marni, and Missioni all used animal prints from snake skin to cheetah to complete their fall looks while Anna Sui and Tory Burch used more bohemian chic printed dresses and pant suits.

2. Fur Coats

Fur coats have been used on the runway in past seasons but the coasts are picking up major momentum with more designers using them in their shows. Fashion Houses such as Marni, Christopher Kane, Rochas, and Gareth Pugh have all used fur coats on the runway this season. Michael Kors also used a beautiful blue fur coat worn by Kendall Jenner that had the fashion world buzzing.

3. Kanye and The Kardashians

During the first days of NYFW, Kanye West showed his debut collection for Adidas, having over 50 models for his collection including sister-in-law Kylie Jenner. Kanye also sat front with his wife Kim and daughter North at the Alexander Wang show, where his sister-in-law Kendall Jenner also walked the runway. Kendall walked in countless shows this fashion week, including Fendi, Giles, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Donna Karen, Diane Von Furstenberg, Vera Wang, and Marc by Marc Jacobs.

4. Children

During fashion week, children were seen on and off the runway. In New York, Kanye and Kim Kardashian’s baby North West attended Kanye’s Adidas collection show and was seated front row at Alexander Wang. In Milan, Dolce and Gabbana paid tribute to mothers this fashion week by having their models walk with their children in matching outfits.

5. Broaches and Gloves

The designers this season showed some love for the underrated accessory. Fashion houses like Les Copains and Fausto Puglisi used broaches to complete their looks. Prada also used big, bright and beautiful floral broaches on their runway this season. Broaches weren’t the only accessory widely used, as long evening gloves made many appearances on the runway. Designers in New York like Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, and Boss Women used gloves. London, Milan, and Paris Designers such as Antonio Marras, Prada, Thomas Tait, and Yang Li also incorporated long evening gloves on their models.

6. Sleek Puffer Jackets

Milan fashion week designers embraced the sleek puffer jacket this season. Moschino opened up their collection with a puffer jacket look, while Fendi had many high profile models styling their sleek puffer jackets and dresses. London Fashion week also featured puffer jackets on the runways of Hunter Original and Gareth Pugh. While in New York, Rag and Bone rocked the runway with the subtle but chic puffer jackets.

7. Florals

Designers have been embracing florals this season. The trend started at New York Fashion week with designers such as Diane Von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, and Marchesa using the print for gorgeous dresses. In London, designers such as Preen and Mary Katrantzou used the print for shirts and skirts. While in Milan, Dolce and Gabbana used floral prints and flowers on almost all of their pieces.

8. Model of the Moment

Gigi Hadid went from an up-and-coming model to super model over the past year. The 19 year old, daughter of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster, has only walked a handful of shows this fashion week. However, the shows she has walked in she’s dominated, such as closing for Moschino and opening for Max Mara and Anna Sui. Gigi has also walked in Dolce and Gabbana, Jeremy Scott, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors and was able to land a coveted spot on Tom Ford’s runway this season. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Miss Hadid appeared in a few shows in Paris later on this week.
