It’s been hard to miss the recent brighter and warmer days. The grass is getting greener and flowers are blooming all around campus. Spring is finally here and the Hudson Valley is riddled with events to enjoy it. Here are some local happenings coming up in the next few weeks:

Springtime Story Hour: Clermont State Historic Site, Germantown, NY, Sat. April 17.

About an hour’s drive from campus, this free event will feature a costumed storyteller as they read and act out spring-themed tales. Socially distanced and outside, this seems like a fun event for children and adults alike.

“Spring Lights”: Thomas Cole Historic Site, Catskill, NY,. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting April 16.

With a cost of only twenty dollars, this is an immersive experience that allows guests to walk through a spring-themed light show inspired by the work of late artist Thomas Cole and features audio recordings of Cole’s own writings. This is a great event for nature and art lovers!

Mindfulness in Minutes: Spring: Mohonk Mountain House, New Paltz, NY., April 16-18.

Made for seasoned and beginner meditators, this event aims to teach stress relieving and calming techniques surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the Mohonk Mountain House. A great way to pick up new stress-relieving techniques before finals approach!
