“Two Men At War” is an ABC documentary on Hulu on the history lead-up to the current war in Ukraine, and the two leaders (Vladamir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy) whose ideals are in conflict with each other.

One of the interesting key factors in this documentary is how the livelihoods of both Zelenskyy and Putin are different. Even though both leaders were born in the Soviet Union, both had different political ideals that influenced them to who they are today.

Putin was influenced by Soviet Union ideals since his father was a veteran of World War II. He even was a former KGB spy, and was inspired by films to become one himself. Putin wants to reform the Soviet Union, and gain a large amount of power as a leader.

Zelenskyy however grew up Jewish, and valued both Western culture and the entertainment industry. What helped Zelensky get into office is a show called “Servant of the People,” which is about a history teacher who gets a chance to lead the country of Ukraine.

Another key factor in this documentary is the impact America had on Russia and Ukraine. When Zelenskyy was elected president of Ukraine in 2019, former U.S. President Donald Trump withheld military funds until he could cover up “dirt” from Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden. This would cause President Trump to be impeached for bribery.

Putin’s maintained relations with other formal U.S presidents. However, with former President Barack Obama, the documentary shows that he had a negative relationship with Putin.

Overall, for anyone who wants to understand the war between Ukraine and Russia, this documentary will provide history that leads up to the events that lead up to the war and an insight into the leaders who are. It shows some detailed events not only in Ukraine and Russia, but also in America also play some influence into the war.

Another documentary that also helps viewers catch up with the war in Ukraine is PBS Frontline’s “Putin’s Way.”
