Indie synthpop star Jean-Philip Grobler, also known as St. Lucia, released his brand new sophomore album Matter on January 29th under Columbia Records.St. Lucia started releasing music to the public in 2012 and has since been gaining notable respect for his fresh, high-energy, pure synthpop music.

Between the explosive electronic sounds and poetic lyrics about real world understandings of love, life, aging and death, Grobler creates a breathtaking 11 track album that sends exciting jolts deep within the soul. So what can people expect from this new album? Grobler stated, “If the first album sounded like the tropic, then this album is the desert”

He may be just getting recognition now, but he has remixed music for big named bands like Passion Pit, Foster the People and Charli XCX. Grobler has also opened up for a widely known band Two Door Cinema Club. If this sounds like your cup of tea, or you’re just in need of a refreshing new sound in the world of synthpop, then this album will quench your thirst beautifully.
