Baseball

Game 1: 

MSMC  16   CMSV   2

Sophomore Blake Kennan (Fishkill, N.Y.) hit a two-run homerun in the Knight’s season high 16-run outing. Ryan Hayes (Robbinsville, N.J.) went 3-for-4 with two RBI and four runs scored, while Tom Huvane (Eastchester, N.Y.) finished up 3-for-4 with two runs and two driven in. Kevin Duffy (Wallingford, C.T.) improved his record to 3-2 on the mound.

 

Game 2

MSMC   9   CMSV   6

Matt Cahill (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) went 4-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs. Rob Peccerillo (Staten Island, N.Y.) finished 2-for-4 with an RBI. David Hobbs (East Rockaway, N.Y.) collecting the win in relief.

In sweeping the doubleheader, the Knights improved their record to 7-17 overall on the season and to 2-2 in conference play.

 

Softball

Game 1:

Yeshiva   0   MSMC  18

Victoria Goldbach (Middle Village, N.Y.) threw a complete game one-hitter, moving her season record to 3-3 on the mound. Senior Sabrina Gordek (Levittown, N.Y.) hit a bases loaded triple in the third inning, and finished 2-for-2 with six runs batted in overall.

Game 2:

Breanna DePasquale (Brooklyn, N.Y.) went 3-for-4 with three extra base hits, scoring two runs and driving in three. Chelsea Dexter (Beacon, N.Y.) finished 2-for-2 with two runs and two runs batted in. Senior Nicole Lomangino (Wantagh, N.Y.) picked up her first win of the season, striking out five batters in 4.2 innings pitched.

Sunday’s sweep pushes Mount Saint Mary to 10-7 overall on the season and to a perfect 8-0 in Skyline Conference play.

Woman’s Lacrosse

Sophomore Christina Ryan (Franklin Square, N.Y.) scored four goals for the Knights in the heartbreaking loss to the conference rival SUNY Purchase. Goalie Amanda Picillo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) made three saves for the Knights.

The loss dropped Mount Saint Mary to 4-6 overall on the season and to 0-2 in Skyline Conference play.

Men’s Lacrosse

Tristan Earle (Millrift, Pa.) and Joseph Rizzotti (East Meadow, N.Y.) each finished with five goals and an assist. Dylan De Meo (Franklin Square, N.Y.) scored twice and finishing with eight points and six assists on the day. Kenneth Gallagher (Northport, N.Y.) scored two goals. Sophomore goalkeeper Christopher Doerr (Pleasantville, N.Y.) made 12 saves and earned his ninth win of the season.

With the win, the Knights moved to 9-2 overall and to 1-1 in league play.

De Meo was selected as the Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week for his performance, his second such recognition of the season and fourth of his collegiate career.

 

Men’s Tennis

MSMC  8   SUNY Purchase  1

Senior Nate Dimmie (Middletown, N.Y.) teamed with junior Matt Anastasi (Salisbury Hills, N.Y.) at first doubles for an 8-5 victory. Anastasi also dominated in in singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at the top spot and moved to 5-3 overall on the season in singles play.

In doubles play, Chris McGorty (Bellmore, N.Y.) and Dan Witke (Brooklyn, N.Y.) teamed up at the second spot for an 8-3 win.

The win pushed Mount Saint Mary to 6-3 overall on the season and to 3-1 in league play.

Junior Matt Anastasi (Salisbury Hills, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week and Chris McGorty (Bellmore, N.Y.) was named Rookie of the Week.
