Baseball

MSMC 2   St Mary’s (Md.) 5

 

Senior Matt Cahill (Ronkonkama, N.Y.) and junior Vincenzo Pepe (Middletown, N.Y.) each had two hits for the Knights. Kristopher Fragomeni (Beacon, N.Y.) recorded the lone RBI for MSMC.

Junior RHP Kevin Duffy (Wallingord, Conn.) suffered the loss, allowing three earned runs on four hits in 4.1 innings, and striking out five.

Game 1:  Baruch 5   MSMC 4

Sophomore Albert Estwick Jr (East Elmhurst, N.Y.) went 1 for 2 with a bases clearing, three RBI triple. Ryan Hayes (Robinsville, N.J.) finished the game 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Chris Wolfe (Beacon, N.Y.) suffering the loss after working 2.0 innings and recording two of the team’s three strikeouts in the game.

Game 2:  Baruch 11   MSMC 6

Matt Cahilll (Ronkonkama, N.Y.) and Blake Keenan (Fishkill, N.Y.) each drove in two runs for the Knights, with Jimmy Papineau (Pleasantview, N.Y.) going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two stolen bases.

Kevin Duffy (Wallingford,Conn.) struck out three batters in relief. Freshman Nick Peterson (Stormville, N.Y.) received the loss after giving up five earned runs in 1.0 inning of work.

Brockport 17   MSMC 0

Vincenzo Pepe (Middletown, N.Y.) and Joey Pugliese (Highland, N.Y.) each picked up a hit for the Knights.

Chris Wolfe (Beacon, N.Y.) took the loss and fell to 0-2, allowing two earned runs in 2.1 innings.

Albertus Magnus 2   MSMC 4

Junior right handed pitcher Kevin Duffy (Wallingford, Conn.) worked his fourth career complete game and picked up the Knight’s first win of the season. He surrendered two earned runs on seven hits, fanning six batters without allowing one walk.

 

Woman’s Lacrosse

Cedar Crest 0   MSMC 16

 

Katie Gattoni (Old Tappan, N.J.), Shannon McGuinness (Oceanside, N.Y.), and Maggie Pedersen (Glasco, N.Y.) each finished the game with three goals each for the Knights with Gattoni leading the team in the game with five points.

Morgan Cordes (Sound Beach, N.Y.) led Mount Saint Mary with six groundballs in the game.

Freshman Amanda Picillo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) picked up the win in goal for Mount Saint Mary in her collegiate debut without having to make a save.

Senior Claire Duffy (Monroe, N.Y.) led the Knights in draw controls and groundballs and added a pair of goals in the loss.

Katie Gattoni (Old Tappon, N.Y.) led the offensive charge for the Mount with four goals on nine shots and matched the team-high with five groundballs in the game.

Senior Shannon McGuinness (Oceanside, N.Y.) recorded the team’s lone assist in the game.

Freshman Amanda Picillo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) made a career-high four saves in her second career start.

New Paltz 11   MSMC 12

 

Junior Katie Gattoni (Old Tappan, N.J.) scored five times, including the game winner with 33 seconds left in regulation time, and Shannon McGuinness (Oceanside, N.Y.) added four goals to help Woman’s Lacrosse defeat New Paltz for the first time in program history.

 

Amanda Picillo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) made six saves in the contest to go along with two caused turnovers and a pair of groundballs.

 

Men’s Lacrosse

Bard 2   MSMC 17

 

The Knights Men’s Lacrosse team won the first two games of a season for the first time in program history, behind ten different scorers.

 

Christopher Doerr (Pleasantville, N.Y.) stopped six shots and picked up four groundballs. A.J. Galletta (Commack, N.Y.) came on to make four saves in the fourth period for the Knights.

MSMC 15   Johnson and Wales 9

 

Tristan Earle (Millrift, Pa.), Dylan De Meo (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and Joseph Rizzotti (East Meadow, N.Y.) all posted five points each in the Knight’s road victory, extending their winning streak to three games.

 

Knights goalie Christopher Doerr (Pleasantville, N.Y.) made eight saves.
