The Hudson Valley is famous for its vast food culture, with farm-to-table, international, craft creations, and more. So, it’s no surprise that Mexicali Blue, in New Paltz and Wappingers Falls, has been named among the Food Network’s best burritos in the country.
Mexicali Blue is located in New Paltz and Wappingers Falls, and features affordable Southwestern food with Californian influences. Some of the specialty dishes include the Cali Catfish Taco and the Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla, along with their traditional Mexican street food options for sides.
This is not the first time Mexicali Blue has been recognized by the Food Network for their food, as in December 2019 the Wappingers location had their short rib burrito named one of the best in the country.
On the local Hudson Valley level, Mexicali Blue has been acclaimed by the Culinary Institute of America, with chef Michael Pardus stating, “Mexicali Blue in New Paltz, is a truly west coast taco shack. Squeezed into a ridiculously small space with six stools, they serve simple, and sparklingly fresh Mexican style street food.”
