Do you ever find yourself staring at a closet full of clothes, yet nothing to wear? Perhaps you have so many clothes that you cannot keep track of everything?
If this is the case, then it is time for you to be freed of your overwhelming fashion collection and embrace the mindset of fashion minimalism with Project 333, created by Courtney Carver.
How does Project 333 work? Those willing to take on the challenge must choose 33 items of clothing, accessories, jewelry, outerwear and shoes. Items that do not count are wedding rings, underwear, sleepwear, in-home loungewear and workout attire.
When choosing your items, make sure you choose staple items that are somewhat neutral in color and pattern. Doing so will give you more wardrobe combinations because your items will be easy to match with each other. Because of the endless combinations, no one will notice you are wearing the same things!
Make sure you take into consideration the comfort of the items you choose, as you need items you can live, work and play in. Make sure everything fits you perfectly.
It may take a few weeks or months to purchase your 33 staple items, but once you have your minimalist wardrobe you need to box up all your other clothes and accessories. Get them out of sight!
If you purchase anything new, stick to the “one in, two out” approach. By doing so, you will not have to worry about accumulating yet another overwhelming closet.
Carver started Project 333 in 2010, and it continues to grow and help simplify wardrobes of people from across the globe. This fashion strategy is ideal for students entering the workforce who do not have a full professional wardrobe.
