Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and it’s time for plans to be in order. Going out to dinner is great, but sometimes staying in and watching a movie is even better. No rush hour. No laying down large quantities of money. Just snuggling up under a warm, cozy blanket with your significant other by your side. Here are the best movies to watch this Valentine’s Day:

1. 50 First Dates

“50 First Dates” is a classic romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Upon their initial meeting, Henry (Sandler), a definite playboy, is taken with Lucy (Barrymore). He decides that he wants to pursue a more serious relationship with her, only to discover that Lucy suffers from short term memory loss and is unable to remember him the next day. Henry then dedicates every day to making Lucy fall in love with him over and over again. Though not psychologically accurate, “50 First Dates” is a heartwarming story of love and dedication.

2. The Proposal

A fake engagement between a boss and her assistant suddenly becomes very real. Starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, “The Proposal” follows Margaret (Bullock) and Andrew (Reynolds) as they try to maintain the facade of their engagement in front of Andrew’s family and friends in order to ensure Margaret will not be deported back to Canada. A rollercoaster of a love story that’s guaranteed to have you laughing out loud, “The Proposal” proves that getting to know someone can make all the difference in how you perceive them and that opposites really do attract.

3. The Wedding Planner

Starring Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey, this couple has their “meet-cute” moment when Steve (McConaughey) saves Mary (Lopez) from an out of control dumpster. Just as the two hit it off, Mary learns that Steve is engaged to her client and that she is, in fact, currently planning his wedding. What follows is a plethora of hijinks as the two try to deny their true feelings for one another. “The Wedding Planner” is a definite must-watch for people who believe in destiny and adore the idea of defying all odds so you can be with your one and only.
